Community Workshop

The City of Ukiah is holding its first General Plan Update Community Workshop. Everyone is encouraged to attend and help envision Ukiah’s future!

UkiahGPU Logo FinalEvery jurisdiction in California must have a General Plan, which is the local government’s long-term framework or “constitution” for future growth and development. The General Plan represents the community’s view of its future. The General Plan contains the goals and policies upon which the City Council and Planning Commission will base their land use and resource decisions. California State law requires each City to adopt a General Plan for the physical development of the jurisdiction and any land outside the City’s boundaries relating to its long term planning. Typically, a General Plan is designed to address the issues facing the jurisdiction for the next 20 years.

Workshop Objectives
  • Provide an overview of the General Plan Update
  • Relay opportunities to get involved in the process
  • Collect input on issues and opportunities that should be addressed through the General Plan
  • Receive initial feedback on a citywide vision for Ukiah in 2040

For families with young children, a Kids Corner will be provided with children’s activities.
