The Electric Division for Ukiah Public Utilities oversees the procurement of wholesale power, maintains and operates the local electric distribution system, is involved in engineering and advanced planning for improvements, replacement and expansion of the distribution system, maintenance and operation of Ukiah's street lighting system and traffic signals, and operation and maintenance of the Lake Mendocino Hydroelectric Plant. The City of Ukiah is committed to providing environmentally friendly electric power to its customers. Renewable energy generation and hydroelectric plants provide approximately 80% of Ukiah's power.
