Mom & Pop Businesses

The City of Ukiah feels it is very important to create a positive environment for small businesses in the town. These businesses provide a rich and diverse experience, and create a unique atmosphere that is essential to the fabric and preservation of our "Small Town" community. In fact, preservation of the distinct character of our Business District can form the City's definition of its uniqueness and a sense of place for our families, friends and tourists alike. We want to do everything possible to make Ukiah vibrant, enjoyable and fun!

Business Partnerships

The City of Ukiah has formed strong partnerships with both the Ukiah Main Street Program and the Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce to achieve many goals under our economic development umbrellas. The City Council feels, together, we can do much to enhance the business and economic strength of our community. With the Ukiah Main Street Program and the Chamber of Commerce, we have sponsored activities that promote business activity. These events have included: Comedy Alley, Cinco De Mayo Festival, Concerts in the Park Series, and the Ukiah Pumpkinfest, just to name a few memorable programs. In the future, we hope to increase shopping in the core district during the holidays with our "Avenue of Lights" display. In the coming year, the City of Ukiah will be planting over 500 trees along the length of State Street to enhance the "business look" of the area. With your input and direction, we are confident together, we can make the Business Liaison Program work for everyone!
